Well what I find scary right now is not being able to get past the ropburn level in Mirror's Edge

I just can't seem to get that wall run thing down I'm using a keyboard and mouse.

I finished it with keyboard and mouse. For me, much better and precise control.

Games like Amnesia or Silent Hill (which btw is just insane, my favorite horror game) plant an idea in your head: you're alone, it's dark, and something is out there to get you. It gives you a constant fear that something's always near. You look behind you, see nothing, try to carry on... but something makes you feel that you should check behind you again. But you can't. Because you know there's someone there.

FEAR and Silent Hill 3 for me. FEAR for jumpiness factor. Like there is nothing and then BOOOO :shock:
Silent Hill 3 for constant psychologic pressure. I didn't even finish it. Simply couldn't take it anymore

You have a better chance of finding a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow than Valve releasing Half-Life 3 anytime soon.

By th time they release the game they'll have to include a DVD to bring you up to speed on what happened thus far, plus include the ending of Episode to in the beginning of Episode/Half-Life 3 so people know what the hell is going on

Ya. I have the Hl2 collectors ed and epi1 and 2. I never cared for css or hl2 mp stuff and do not have orange box, and portal looks all cute like a kid or a girl game, just videos etc, it is not my cup of tea. I have played a many hl2 mod games tho.

I do not really want a ep3. I would love a all new HL3 with new engine. Maybe it could pick up where ep2 ended. and add least 1 flying vehicle we can use. maybe a troop transport and would be large enough to carry dog, maybe a car too.

I would like to see alyx mature, maybe get a hev suit but more 7 of 9 cat suit type- or body stocking what ever you want to call it, Say its is new nano tech and all she needs to power it etc are in the belt, which also holds her sweet auto pistol etc. More hints to romance between the 2 would be nice and let alyx co op freeman most of the game like in the epi's.

Give freeman some hands too. to open doors or drive etc. it is odd not seeing any hands. Maybe give freeman a voice too. Weapons are good but prefer normal weapon sites and or iron sites on some guns etc. or normal l mouse scope button.

I think the largest prob is valve does not have a worthy or new engine. They could maybe get rights to crytek 2 or 3 engine. I think I read crytek is going to lease out the rights like say ut does with its engines. Or the engine used in rage might be another good 1.

I would not mind at all if a few rpg role playing shooter elements was added to a new hl3 game. Stuff like weapons inventory or trading upgrading etc. Like in games like borderlands stalker or bioshock or fo3. But could live with out the rpg stuff.. Lock picking and computer hacking might be cool too. All of these things could be added and new sweet graphics and not break the hl games at all, only make them more modern and better.

I might get l4d stuff, but really have no interest in valve games other than a hl3. I do have bioshock and frontlines and fo3 goty on steam. I also have the fo3 collectors ed retail. All of my other games are retail. I only play pc games.

Half Life made valve and or steam. Valve needs to get back to its roots, and bring us a all new and sweet HL3 game. I can care less about the rest.

Im in the same boat in regard to the MP stuff. Why I just got HL2, Ep1, Ep2, and Portal.
Didnt mess with TF.


At first glace, my thoughts were the same about Portal.

But TBH, Portal was surprisingly fun.
Sure, it mostly just trying to figure out how to get of a room, but it really is a blast. At least to IMHO.

I only got TF2 because it was £3 on Steam in the sale. I've tried it a few times with the free weekends, but just can't get in to it properly.

Well, I like mp stuff just not being cheated. Very lil in mp games is honest, even most clans are hack clans. And all corp sponsor or big money tourneys are all over land, never over the net. You can watch for cheaters in a lan environment- you can not over the net.

I just never cared for hl2 mp stuff. My all time fav mp game is ut04. It was a time I played it some 17 hours a day or more for 2 1/2 years. Got sick of being cheated and in every other game too. So now I mostly only play sp games, Unless playing mp with a few friends I feel I can trust.

I am disabled, all I have to do is game ,so.

I am a fps or rps gamer. Everything else is a pong or a girl game imo. Others can like or play what they care to. My fav genre these days are the rps games [roll playing shooter] like stalker bioshock borderlands and fo3 etc.

Fo3 is the worst of the bunch when talking fps mechanics and gun play or player movement. Vats is rpg and no skills all day long, but can be cool for some screens or vids, maybe slo mo or close ups or for locating enemies etc. I guess perfect for rpg players. Fo3 is a better rpg game versus fps or combo- or rps game, what ever you want to call it. But fo3 is still a cool game.

The rps games tend to be longer to complete the sp part. I think the rps games are a better value versus a sp game you can complete in 1 eve, like say cod games, and is why I do not buy them until real cheap, or free with hardware.

Games like HL2 and with no walk through might take weeks or months to finish, most games now, and want to charge us 60 bucks. You can complete the sp game in 6 to 10 hours, they get none of my cash, no more than 10 or 20 bucks maybe on steam anyway.. Ha ha the mp games are cheated the first day out, so why bother.

Bought Vietnam for Bad Company 2. It's very different, but still seems as fun. Only had a quick go on it last night, so will try give it a longer play later today.

i think vietnam is pretty fun. i've been playing it a lot recently.

it's quite different from vanilla in the amount of weapon damage. the viet weapons kill much quicker - it takes a lot less bullets to bring someone down - which means you don't have much time to react before you're dead.

one or two of the maps could be better, and maybe a bit of nerfing needs to be done - those choppers and boats are too powerful in my opinion.

my fave is operation hastings, conquest mode - i've never been a big fan of rush - way too repetitive for me...

I avoid helicopters. My flight path in them can be mapped with a slow upwards gradiant then a sharp drop down to a burning wreck.
