I'm very proud that my dad volunteered for The International Brigade during the Spanish Civikl War. He was only a boy.
He was in the same regiment as George Orwell (then Eric Blair)
He would never speak about his experiences there but was much more forthcoming about the second war where he had a desk job and was stationed on Cyprus.
