Hi there, I've been struggling on with this all day and got absolutely nowhere so I thought it best to ask some people who probably know what they're talking about.

I've searched high and low through forums and google and it seems this is a common problem but the range of answers are very different so it makes sense to start yet another one...

It all stemmed from last night (I dont know if it has anything to do with it) but I was attempting to watch a video and windows media player asked to install a codec (assuming it was legit as it was through windows media player) suddenly the screen went black and started up with a blue screen, ever since it's been very temperamental in whether to work or not.

There seems to be three different versions of the blue screen, all mentioning a stop error with all those 0's and such with "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" and then mentioning "storport.sys." Another mentions "amdsata.sys" and another doesn't mention either.

I've been able to get in through safe mode several times and while in here tried different anti virus/spyware checkers but to no avail as it usually crashes after a short while.

I read your instructions to get a crash dump but since I've attempted to get back on to enable this it's obviously stopped letting me and quite frankly I'm bored and annoyed so please any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks a lot for making it this far!

If you wish to have others assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder. The procedure:

* Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
* Zip up the copy.
* Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.
* Briefly describe the problem history and circumstances in the same post. Somebody will attend to your query as soon as possible.

Remove Daemon Tools/Alcohol 120%. They use a file sptd.sys, which is notorious of causing BSOD. Use this SPTD uninstaller when done: DuplexSecure - Downloads

[FONT=&quot]I have a similar problem.

I was clicking a .exe file, so at first, I tought it has something to do with virus.
Then the BSOD would appear in random timing.
Sometimes my computer just hang and the harddisk light is off all of a sudden

Help please?
