Solved help allowing latest programs to connect to the internet

the last 2 programs i installed cannot connect to the internet:
McAfee
Directv2pc
i tried disabling all my firewalls but did not help

I started the program in safemode than rebooted it works now

We need a lot more information:

Which version of McAfee there are many different products, include version. Does this version have a firewall??
Which version of Directv2pc?

McAfee Internet Security 2010(directly from install dvd) yes it has firewall
DIRECTV2PC version: 2.0.5717
