..have noticed a strange problem with 7 build 7201 .. after waking up the display when it has been turned off for a while (the laptop has not been in sleep mode) it loses http access to the internet.

Streaming audio, Skype etc continue but I cannot get any web page .. the troubleshooter diagnoses a connectivity problem but doesn't fix it - disabling and re-enabling the wireless adaptor doesn't help, I have to re-boot.

any ideas?

i'm experiencing the same behavior with RC 7100, except it's with my ethernet connection; rebooting my laptop is the only way i can get the ethernet connection to work. i've disabled all power management features with no success. guess i'll have to pop in my vista drive to see if this is a hardware of Win7 issue... sigh!

if instead of re-booting have you tried right-clicking the network sysbol to see if wizard can fix it?

yep, been there done that. it tells me that the cable is unplugged or might be broken. if i use another cable on the same/different router port it still doesn't connect. reboot the laptop and all is well...

wireless is ok and wired works on different driver. wired uses something like a 10/100 broadcom right? Dell (im using 1) is really bad on drivers. I had to go to broadcom for a 32bit win7 driver. Could also be that wake on device is not checked. Best bet re-install the driver. I hate saying as much as you hate hearing it, but.

Hope this helped somewhat. Im subscribed to this thread so i will get anything posted.

lol, appreciate the suggestion. but.... been there done that as well. went from the Win 7 driver (where the problem started) to the (Dell supplied) nVIDIA nForce 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet driver and the behavior is the same. next step is to pop in my Vista hard drive and see if the problem persists. if it does, it's time to call Dell. thanks for your suggestions!

It seems like you have this covered anyway.

Good luck
