Blue Screen of Horror - Memory Dump Problem.

Hi guys,

My first post here. I joined this forum and asked here because of the other very informative posts on this topic, as I have no clue of Windows 7 problems I am hoping to get this problem sorted out.

In short, I keep getting a memory dump, on a blue screen, with the screen going up to 100%, and then resetting my computer. Strangely, I don't think I have ever had this problem in-game, on the contrary, just doing normal desktop stuff, nothing to demanding like a song, whilst doing uni work, that sort of thing.

My specs are:

- CPU: Intel I5 760 at 4.00GHz
- Motherboard: Asus P7P55D-E Intel P55
- Cooler: Corsair A50 CPU Cooler
- RAM: Corsair Dominator 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz
- Hard Drive: Samsung Spinpoint F4 2TB SATA-II 32MB Cache
- Graphics Card: ATI Radeon HD 6870
- Sound: Asus Xonar D2 7.1 PCI Sound Card

BSOD occurred when Catalyst Control Center was running, reinstall the latest version

Thanks for the reply, and in-turn sorry for my late reply.

I have been working on my dissertation for the best part of the last month, and therefore have put my PC on hold in-terms of this bug. Last night I finally got around to trying what you recommended:

Re-installed ATI Driver for 6870 HiS - Seemed better i.e. less BSOD, however the problem still occurs. I'd say 4-5 times per day.

MemTest - Ran this last night for 10 hours 30 minutes and it found no errors. Also ran the Windows 7 built in test and it passed on 3 occasions.

So I am out of ideas as of now. I am thinking about reformatting, but it really is a last resort because of the time I'd lose doing this. I think the time would be better spend on uni work.

The following is a new memory dump from my PC. I get numerous BSOD's with different messeges, thus I am hoping one of you guys may be able to have a look at it:

Catalyst 10.12 is having problems such as BSOD. You may want to rollback to previous version (10.11).

Ok I have uninstalled the new drivers and installed the old ones. Have had multiple blue screens since. The ones I can remember are.

Memory_Management
Uncontrollable_Hardware_Problem
Irql_not_less_or_equal

Out of ideas, is it time for a reformat? I don't suppose the memory dump I uploaded in my second post showed anything. I know its a big file, thus it's a nightmare to download, but would be very happy if I could get an analysis on it.

Enable Driver Verifier, it will help us determine the faulting drivers as current dumps indicate no probable cause

Ok enabled the Driver Verifier, however, PC would not boot up. In the end had to go into BIOS and load up the default profile (which is Overclocked) in order to get it to work. Good news is I do have a memory dump file:

The BSODs caused by RapportEI64.sys, a software from Trusteer Rapport, remove it as it is problematic

Hi,

Did you do a complete driver clean after uninstalling latest Cats?

They are causing bsods on some machines. You must clean old drivers.

Ok the good news is I did what you said, but the bad news is I did it without admin mode running.. Grrrr.. So going to do it again. I did get a atk0110 messege from BSOD, so I assume this is to do with ATI drivers? Going to go through the process that you provided again, and see where it goes. The last dump I have is below, hope it helps.

atk0110 is the Asus driver

Please visit this link: ASUSTeK Computer Inc.-Support- download_item_mkt
Scroll down to the Utilities category, then scroll down to the "ATK0110 driver for WindowsXP/Vista/Windows 7 32&64-bit " (it's about the 8th item down).
Download and install it.
Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers to check and make sure that the ASACPI.sys file is date stamped from 2009 or 2010 (NOT 2005).

Ok I have done what you recommended but still to no avail. This is hard-work! Thanks for the input thus far guys, really do appriciate the time. As for memory dumps, the last one that occured 6 mins ago is as follows:

Latest dump files indicate that atikmdag.sys, the Radeon display driver cause the crash

Uninstall it and use driver sweeper to remove leftover display driver files
Guru3D - Driver Sweeper

Then reinstall the latest driver
AMD Graphics Drivers & Software

Please upload any other dump files directly on the forums and not on file sharing websites
Fill in your system specs so that we can assist you better

The Radeon driver is still the cause, did you follow the steps above? Using driver sweeper before installation of display drivers is important

Perform a system stability check with OCCT and post the results, do the GPU and Mem test
