IE9 RC crashing

Hiyas, just have upgraded from IE8 to IE9 RC. iexplore 32bit runs ok but Iexplore 64bit doesnot run. Instead browser only empty window shows for some while, then close. I don't know what steps should I do to fix. The installation process went fine. OS=Win7/64. Installed package: IE9-Windows7-x64-csy.exe Help plz?

i had a similar problem i have 2 machines one is duel core the other hyperthreaded(this has problems running IE9) so i`ve just uninstalled the update and its now running ie8 fine.

to uninstall IE9
controle pannel>uninstall programs>cick on installed updates then right click IE9 >uninstall

reboot and you will be back with IE8.

i beleve IE9 is not the finished product so your not missing anything yet.

will leave on my duel core machine and tinker futher.

I had problems with it also. It ran OK (on my 64-bit system) but all-of-a-sudden the system really slowed down (not just IE9). Visual Studio would take forever to load a project - general instability. I removed it and the system is back to normal.

I keep telling myself - "no beta's" ... but I keep learning the hard way.

hello max i`ve checked visual studio on 64 bit duel core still ok (touch wood).ON my girlfriends intel pen 4 3 gig single core system(64bit hyp) i will try out of intrest. online gameing was affected on this machine jewel quest ran like a snail.

reinstalling ie9 on older machine to do some more investigation.

sucker for punishment back later.

reinstalled IE9 on older machine now working ok.
visual studio loads projects ok.
jewel quest is not a slow as before(hardly playable)but i still think its slower than when using IE8 why idon`t know.

i will continue running IE9 on both machines and will keep you posted

could you more specify what you mean by online armor. I don't think I even have something like this present in my OS. I only use COMODO personal firewall which I can't turn off.

Installed IE9 RC 64bit and experienced slow, slow performance plus many errors saying there was a problem with the particular website page I was trying to go to. Have uninstalled IE9 as a result. Sorry MS - you'll have to do better than this!

could you more specify what you mean by online armor. I don't think I even have something like this present in my OS. I only use COMODO personal firewall which I can't turn off.

Online Armor is a personal firewall distributed by Emsisoft. I'm just passing on my situation with IE9, even though it may not match your particular setup. I would disable Comodo for a moment and then test IE9 64-bit.

no the problem first showed up on my single core 64bit system which seems to be ok after a reinstalll
duel core 64 still no problems.
i shall continue on both machines and report any problems thats why beta`s are released to fully debug the software.you can always go back to IE8 if problems persist or get worse.
my main concern is it seems to be sloeing down other applications such as onlin gameing and max had a problem with visual studio.

What is interesting here is that I have two W7 HP x64 computers

I also have both IE9 x32 and x64 on both computers

My firewalls appear to be set identical for IE on both computers

The difference is that on one of the computers I am using IE9 Beta and and on the other one IE9 RC

IE9 Beta x32 and x64 both work fine
IE9 RC x32 works fine

IE9 RC x64 will not load and connect but tries to load and then crashes. Fortunately these crashes are not affecting anything else.

This morning the Control Panel - Windows Update - offered IE9 RC as a download on the x64 computer that I had IE9 Beta x32 and x64 and both worked.

I downloaded and installed the updates.

x32 loads and works fins
x64 does not load and crashes almost immediately

IE9 RC x64 still does not load and work on my other x64 computer.

So for now I moved IE9 RC x32 to the Task Bar and will use it.

Strange that IE8 x64 and IE9 Beta x64 both worked on these x64 computers but that IE9 RC x64 does not.

Will keep an eye on this for awhile. I've pretty well standardized my systems on Chrome anyway which is excellent.

The big thing about IE9 seems to be HTML5 compatibility. What's interesting is that HTML5 is actually still a draft standard which won't even be final until 2014! Think we're in a bit of a rush here?

I'll stick with Chrome for now. I've got work to do. I can't keep fiddling with this.

True, I didn't notice the problem on my 32-bit systems. Still, as I said, think I'll sit this one out awhile.

yesterday M$ released a new IE9 installer, performed reinstall with new setup and confirm IE9 64bit is finally working.
