does anyone know if there is a driver available for a geforce 7800 gtx (BFG brand, overclocked out of the box, set up in SLI mode) that is compatible with windows 7 32bit and 64bit? i know the card is old and isn't officially compatible with windows 7 but i figure it's worth checking into.

any help is greatly appreciated.

thanks.

Mornin' Matt,

I have located this:
NVIDIA Driver Downloads - Advanced Search
You might have to click on the search button to get the list of drivers to show.

There is a win7 x64 selection there where it says x32 under Operating system.
And also an SLI selection under product.

interesting, i swear that not so long ago there were no windows 7 drivers available for this model... maybe they have updated support for some older cards recently?

what's the difference between the 7800 gtx and 7800 sli options in the Product drop-down menu on the drivers search page? i have two 7800 gtx cards in sli mode.

Nvidia still uses the UDA (Unified Driver Architecture) Despite them having everything segmented, my understanding is most of their drivers are valid for any card going all the way back to the 6xxx series. The main thing that changes is the operating system.
As long as you select the right Operating system you should be okay. Until very recently I had a old pair of 7950gx2's in my older system, and was actually running them on the same drivers I used for my 8800gtx's.

I could be wrong about this, but I haven't found anything that is contrary to it.

I couldn't tell ya. That was the first time I 've ever visited GTX. I have Intel on-board. I just have a knack for finding things.

Again couldn't tell ya. But, if you click on the driver you would like to try it opens up and gives you a whole bunch of information.
You can also click on the + sign to the left of the listed driver, but it doesn't give you as much info.

What I would do would be to try both, and see how they work, but if your card has the SLI option I'm getting a feeling you will like that one better.

One reason IMHO is that it is built for the SLI option, but also has the GTX 7800 foundation.

If the newest ones don't run right try and find the build date of the card, and use the driver closest to its build date.
