Hi guys...new to this windows 7 forum
When i play songs on my itunes using my Creative X-Fi Titanium Fatality sound card...
i keep hearing Crackle/static/popping sounds whenever i run pgrms on my comp

basically what i faced is almost somewhat similar to this member's problem
http://www.sevenforums.com/sound-audio/22369-realtek-windows-7-64rtm-crackle-static-popping.html

i seriously need help here cause i heard windows 7 is good and upgraded
windows xp never gave me this problem just the front control panel issue
now that the front control panel issue is solved...this problem crops up and its kinda driving me crazy.

anyone out there to help or guide me along? cause i only have basic knowledge about computers and stuffs

THANKS !

Might want to see what drivers you are using and update them. I know there were some issues with older creative drivers when Windows 7 came out. I was having cracking and pops with older drivers and since the latest updates haven't had any issues.

Do you have a wireless connection? Wireless cards have been known to cause this, as have many other potential problems including your sound card drivers. I do not have a wireless connection and had an Xfi Fatal1ty installed in my Win 7 64 bit system and no crackling or popping (I changed to a different card as the Xfi was interferring with my Sonar recording studio program and nothing to do with popping or crackling).

If you look through the forum you will see many posts on the popping and crackling as users with all types of sound cards/integrated audio have had problems.

Another issue is the video card's drivers - update them to the latest too.

Run the free DPC Latency checker, it MAY help you identify where or what the problem is.

I asked about the wireless as a lot of users are now using desktops with wireless connections and some new desktops are even coming with a wireless adapter as standard or optional.

I have an HT Omega Striker 7.1 audio card. I also have this PC optimized for Sonar recording studio software. I only have minimal startup programs, including Microsoft Security Essentials, and they were all that was running when I took the snapshot, I had closed my browser and e-mail before running the Latency checker.

When you start a program or a running program accesses something, that can make a "spike" in the Latency.

I notice it does state that there are devices that could cause Latency issues. As I noted originally, there are many potential things that can cause pops, crackles, etc and you have to try one thing at a time to see if it helps or eliminates it.
