Win7 SP1 released to public

Just installed SP1 and I have this mscorsvw.exe running in the background using some 60-70% CPU. Is this a one-off or will it be there forever?

The New Hardware Found wizard may start and try to install the .NET Runtime Optimization Service when you start a computer that is running the .NET Framework 2.0

Check in "services.msc"...how .Net Framework 2.0 or .Net FrameWork 4.0 are set.

I needed under 90 mb. Took about 35 minutes via Windows Update. My system was pretty well updated before I began.

Occupied space on C drive is 3.0 GB less than it was without the Service Pack.

I also downloaded the 903 MB exe file for 64 bit--that took about 7 minutes. Looks like MS servers are holding up pretty well.

Download took longer than the install.

That is a good question. Since there are updates that are required to update to SP1 I don't know if you can go directly to SP1. You might try going online and see what updates are offered. That will give you a better idea. Since this is the first day SP1 is offered through updates it will be interesting as what is the best procedure to follow. I assume with a fresh install Windows Update will offer SP1 and any pre-requisites but just a guess.

Wow that was quick and it also only took about 30 mins. Configuring updates during shutdown and reboot were also surprisingly quick.



Now to make a new restore point and image.

on desktop ok
on laptop broke my windows every time i restart it says new hardware and i need to refresh performance index i think drivers got broken doing system restore...
cant figure out why maybe because one time laptop got to sleep default windows 7 power saving
system restore did not help vga driver got even more broken and so i undo it.. agaain

Downloaded the 900MB+ x64 package with the 300MB readiness tool. Both did their job splendily. (both in French btw)

Now, I can say that I am up-to-date

Got mine on both machines this am didn't take that long but it's rooted the settings in my WMP plus my outgoing WLM is not working.

Whole system seems a bit slower but at least it's done!

Edit yeh the taskbar is acting real funny doesn't start with a single click anymore.

Sweet, it wiped out all my previous restore points. I hope it picks up some speed over time - my system is less responsive.

Hmmm just got home and Installed KB238753 & KB2484033 but no SP1 is offered. I have no pre release versions installed what could be the cause?

I upgrade it before and all the language packs are gone.
Today there are two more updates for XPS printing and the Direct3D,
and language packs are coming back,I think this is a good indicators that
the previous leak SP1 is the geniune one

A coworker installed it today on his work laptop and got his first BSOD ever on Windows 7. Needless to say, he was holding his head saying, maybe I should have waited a little longer. He asked me what I thought of it, since I am the one who downloaded it. I said, I don't know...I haven't touched it. HaHa.
