Anyway to integrate RAID Drivers into an install?
Hi.
My first post here, and I was just wondering if there was a way to integrate raid drivers in my windows 7 installation CD?
Thanks,
Angus

Type dism in a command prompt while running Windows 7 (just noticed your on xp). Don't ask me how to use it though. I haven't had time to play with it.
Here's a short video going over the basics.

Actually there is. I looked at my WAIK install and it had dism so download
WAIK (Windows Automated Installation Kit).
There's also
Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT) 2010 Beta . I was playing around with it earlier and didn't have much success and wasn't in the mood to read the help files.
Probably the easiest method would be to try
vLite but I don't know what success people have had integrating drivers. vLite was designed for Vista but it does work with Windows 7. Check over at
msfn.org for vlite issues.
The last 2 options still require you to have WAIK installed!

Do you need to integrate them. as far as I know Win 7 and Vista and Raid drivers built it. and you don't need to install raid drivers except for in some cases.

I also used vLite and I noticed that windows 7 had nvidia and intel and a bunch of other raid drivers in it. I am not sure how updated they are but you can use vlite to get rid of those drivers and integrate the drivers you want by just loading up the drivers folder.
In fact that is what I did with my latest vlited 7227 installation. I downloaded the latest nvidia drivers for my motherboard and just integrated them.

I've installed Windows 7 on my Raid system and it didnt need any drivers or anything, when it asked where I wanted to intall the OS it showed the RAID0 drive that I had created through the RAID controllers bios config and it just went from there. I didn;t need to install any drivers and it ran perfectly after installation

For XP it's simple -- slipstream the drivers into XP SP3.
How To: Slipstream your XP installation | Maximum PC
You can also Slipstream VISTA -- not sure about W7 as these should have the drivers already integrated.

As I also found out the W7 install allows you to browse for drivers just in case it is unable to find what it needs to get the install job done. I put my drivers for the nvidia raid and motherboard on to a usb flash drive and just pointed the installer to them during the installation process and it all went smooth.

7 won't recognize raid 0 drives as one volume
I just finished my build and have attempted to install 7. I set up the RAID array in the bios, it says that it's fine. When I get to the screen where you choose which disk to install the OS to it shows both 150g disks independently instead of a 300g volume. Anybody got a clue

Pop your raid drivers onto some external media (flash drive etc.) point windows to them and it will install fine.
