Solved IE9 - Open FTP site in Windows Explorer

This was possible in IE7 & 8. But I don't see this option in 9. I REALLY hope the didn't get rid of it, because it was really nice for FTP'ing.

Anyone know if it's still there?

I don't have that option...

It must be dependent on whether or not you're already viewing an FTP

I type in
ftp:123.234.234.111 in the command bar and I get the option to put in my username and
password.

you don't need to view drop down. Just type in the words

Great, I get the option now but the Dialogue box for uname & pwd does not show up...

We used to be able to get to the FTP option to view in WExplorer while the ftp site was open...

My problem is that I have a link that takes me directly to the FTP Parent Folder..

I believe I have the answer to your question.

By default the option to view FTP in windows explorer is hidden in IE9

To enable it you have to go to Internet Options --> Advanced --> Enable FTP Folder View

Once that option is enabled you should see Open FTP Site in Windows Explorer under the view option.

Keep in mind that option will only show if you are on an FTP page.

Downloads IN9

Hi I was using IN9 browser, why is there no option to ask where do you want downloaded files to be saved too? FF has that option, FF is my preferred browser now, FF has that option. Music I've downloaded with IN9 in the past, if i delete from downloads it deletes from media player, in the future if I wanna use IN9, is there a way of config it to ask where I wanna downloads be saved to? I had IN8 in the past with Vista it had that option stupid IN9 don't have that option

This is correct but you also have to have intranet sites enabled as well. Once this is done you will be able to select that option. As others have said you can just type ftp: in the address bar too. But I admit I like the explorer window because I have had explorer cache things and you wont see the updates. Explore seems to be exactly what is there in my .02.

Control Panel -> Internet Options -> Browsing -> Enable FTP folder view (outside of internet explorer).
