Build 7000 x64

7 7000 x64 is running. The nvidia driver installed, then windows update found a new one. I installed it. WU also found a driver for my razer mouse.

So far my motherboards INF driver will not install. I claims "operating system not supported". Same for my network driver. Both claim Vista x64 compatibility.

I found a activation crack. I know we arent supposed to talk about such hericy.

It works.

Anyway I now beging installing apps. So far NOD32 works fine. I'm going to have to reserch firewalls. I got W7s on but I'm use to Comodo. Still I'm behind 3 routers.

WinRaR 3.8 installed and works. I'm not worried about Office.

I'll let you guys know how it goes.

Fast enough
Only running on 2gig on this machine.

Can I ask why on earth you want to run x64 on 2GB of RAM? It isn't going to be faster unless you have at least 4 ... and even at 4 suppossedly 32bit is STILL faster. Need 6GB or more for the performance of x64 to really come through.

If I was you I would not run x64 on that.

I sreally only to test. Planning on putting more ram in anyway.

This machine is not the best machine in the world as far as speed but fairly bog standard as far as hardware to test. I add a few bits on here to see how they respond but not to bothered.

I had similar problems with the Intel chipset drivers for my M1330. Used compatability mode and they seem to have installed fine. I say "seemed" because about every other boot the mouse pointer locks up, with or without the Synaptics drivers. That could mean USB drivers which could, in turn, point to the chipset drivers. Hope the x64 will cure that tomorrow (as well as the BSOD from the nVidia driver)....

You are absolutely correct. But, fwiw, I have always run, since the Vista RC's the 64 bit OS in preference, on my 2 GB machine. Comparing the two, I found the 64 bit seemed to run at about the same performance as the 32 bit. It was ceratinly very stable and I had no driver problems. The only plus was that it is good 64 bit motherboard. But I am reaching into the bottom of my nearly empty pockets to buy some more Ram!
