Solved Color in photo viewer

If you look at the snip you will notice the background of my photo in the Windows Photo Viewer is yellowed. In the past it was snowy white like the SF background. I can't place anything I've done since this started happening. Anyone know why this displays this way and can I get it back to a white background?

I upgraded my graphics today to a GeForce GTX460, updated the driver and the viewer still looks yellowed.

Check the background settings. Personalization/Windows Color?

What is the background in other Apps like Word.

it's often a problem with windows update and the colour profiles on samsung monitors.

you'll need to revert to the standard windows device profile.

type color into your startmenu searchbox >> chose color managment from the search results >> goto advanced tab >> for device profile, select 'system default sRGB IEC616966-2.1'

you may have to reboot to see any changes - please let us know if it worked.

this has been a problem for years now with samsung monitors and windows 7 - i'm really surprised that nobody at samsung nor microsoft has done anything about it yet.

That was the problem and the fix worked for me. I read through the other thread too, very interesting two corporate giants can let this kind of problem go un-fixed.

As MM said Samsung get it wrong. Why ?????????????????
It caused me enormous frustration quite some time ago when I started using Photoshop.

MS may provide the profile for you as a "service". So you need to check.

It's b-a-a-a-a-ck

The darned yellow color is back in Photo viewer. I still have the same profile loaded as Mickey suggested. Updated vid drivers via Win update, nVIDIA site, rolled back, reupdated, did a clean install from ASUS CD that came with new card. ASUS ENGTX460 DirectCU/2D/1GD5

also, try using the remove button to get rid of the pesky samsung profile.

next time you do a windows update, hide the samsung profile, so you never get bothered by it again.

Thank again guys! I stumbled on a similar fix while falling asleep early this AM

Using Device Manager/Monitor/Properties I to update driver/browse my computer/let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer. I selected the UPnP driver (generic Microsoft) and used it.
In Windows update the Samsung driver was there so I did hide it.

This is what the color profile looks like now and (crosses fingers) is working fine.

The Samsung manual got me thinking about this, heh.
