Trillian Astra, the next generation multi-IM platform is available for all. You no longer need a beta invitation to try out the software. From their forums;

An invitation is no longer needed to download the beta version of Trillian Astra for Windows.

Remember, this is beta software, and although it is quite stable, there are still bugs. You should only test if you are comfortable with the limitations and annoyances of beta software.

Please search Bugzilla for any bugs you may encounter, and create a new bug report if there is none found for your issue. To access Bugzilla initially, the username is beta and the password is beta. Once you have access, you can create a Bugzilla account for reporting.

p.s. Please note that only the Windows version of Astra is available for testing. You may sign up to be notified when other versions are available for testing.

p.p.s. You will need to create an Astra account when prompted. Your Pro e-mail and password will not work. You can link a current Pro subscription to your Astra account.

It does not seem to be free. At least it says pro version in the about dialog and that it is free for 30 days only.

I tried it when it was at build 104, was rather slow at transfers between Trillian Astra and Windows Live Messenger contacts.

Other then that it was very nice.

well at least you can manage a lot of accounts in one program, instead of running an irc client, live msg, yahoo msg, icq, google and more.

I used to use v3.x and it was awesome!

Oh yes it is quite nice, I just stopped using it mainly because at the time, when I had that 2kbps transfer speed between Trillian Astra Build 103, and Windows Live Messenger, i was trying to transfer a large sum of files to a friend.

I plan to reinstall it shortly and give it another go. =)

EDIT: It is $25 for a full license, but I think it lasts forever.

I re-downloaded it about 2 hours ago, I was going to upgrade to Pro, but sadly the option I wanted was no longer there.

Before: Trialpay with Netflix was an option.
Now: Trialpay exists but Netflix option doesn't.

Odd, I attempted trialpay through the Trillian Pro 3.1 and netflix is an option (so i'll just do it through that).

I HATE NETFLIX

I went out and bought a $25 prepaid Visa, and went to sign up to netflix via trialpay. Apperently 2 weeks ago netflix stopped accepting prepaid cards, and there is no warning about it until you enter a prepaid card.

I've been using Trillian for YEARS. LOVE Astra so far. I had Pro when it was 3.xxx, so I have the option to upgrade to Astra Pro for $10, I think it'll be worth it.

FYI, the Pro license IS 'forever', but I think you eventually you lose some access to things on the site...
