Solved Question about OEM of Windows 7

Hi everyone,

i have installed OEM version of windows 7 32-bit. Since its OEM i got only 1 disk with 32 bit.

I want to install 64 bit version, and does Microsoft provide download of 64 bit?

If i would download 64 bit version and install, would my licence from 32bit would work on 64 bit?

Im using Homer Premium, so ofcourse i would use Home Premium just 64 bit.

You could request the OEM to send you a 64 bit disk. MS doesnt "provide" any downloads, you need to locate the installer yourself. You could borrow a disk from a friend or google for a clean downloadable iso, then clean install home premium (you cant upgrade install from 32 bit to 64 bit) and activate with the STICKER key.

The edition of the disk you borrow or download is immaterial, you can unlock all editions with this method, then install home premium.

i have found this Download Windows 7 ISO

and there is x64 of home premium, so as i understand if i would burn that to DVD and make a clean install, i could use my OEM licence i bought with 32bit?

Yes. Best to format the drive during the install, create partitions (its all in Drive options during the install), clean install. Remember to use the STICKER key.

thanks again! now when making DVD ISO should i make some particular options to set? i think the one im downloading should be bootable.

Just download and burn at the lowest speed possible with whatever burning program you have. If you have none, download IMGBurn. Use a new dvd, not some old scratched rewritable. The iso is bootable, after burning boot from the dvd.

The page OP linked to seems to have download links from Digital River, so they should be official Microsoft ISO images.

If you have a valid key that you "bought" then you should be able to call MS and for like $14 they will send you a disc. I know it is not free but if you have questions about your DL source then it is well worth the money to know OS you have is bug and virus free! Hope this helps you some. Good luck.

The working links are genuine, official Microsoft ISO images (Msft Digital River).

i have used HP from the links and seems everything work, my licence was confirmed from 32 bit to 64 bit
