That's still a fine score digitalrurouni I mean 7.4 out of a possible 7.9 :D your machine would be perfect for gaming:p
I figure you have a new computer at hand.Mine was 1year young in May.

Brains.

Once I get Build 7231 downloaded and install, I'll post my specs here.

But yes, 7.4 out of 7.9 is outstanding! See what you can do to get it up even more (that doesn't include editing that XML file).

Thanks guys. The only thing I can think of doing is overclocking the memory and the cpu a bit more. I dont think I want to overclock the video cards any cuz those suckers run hot! I think a 4 ghz is quite achieveable on my processor on air cooling but I will give it a shot and keep yall posted.

I wish I had a nehalem setup then I would get even higher scores lol. My machine is exactly 1.5 years old by the way. I think I am going to get a couple of velociraptors and another 30 inch display for its midlife crisis upgrade :P

What do you mean by "newer builds"?

There are newer builds of Windows 7 out there, and each WEI judges differently. My WEI on Windows 7 build 7000 was about a 3.2, on 7100 it was 3.4, and I'm just about to see what my WEI is on build 7231.

Ask the Antman what time it is...

Can you do RAID 0+1? I know the Mac Pro can.

The Intel Matrix controller will do RAID10 (a RAID0 made of two RAID1s). I have a 4 port HighPoint RocketRAID 2300 w/RAID5 that I backup (straight copy, no compression) to regularly.

I keep nothing irreplacable on my OS volume(s). All temp and most log files write out to a separate volume, but I have yet to master the C:\Users concept in it's entirety as I skipped Vista after paying $240 for it as an early adopter. So, I still have a lot of I/O to the sysvol that I need to tweak out.

BTW, the RAID5 is comprised of 4x 500GB drives. I will upgrade the controller to one with at least 8 ports and go RAID6 on 8x 500GB drives soon. Soon, that is, as my 16 month baby girl gets out of college.

Ask the Antman what time it is, and he will tell you how to build a watch.

Dammit! You are making me think!

RAID10 reads faster than RAID0. I do have 4 WD 250s that I could config as RAID10. But that would leave me with two Raptor 74s without an application. Unless, I RAID0 them as the page/temp volume. But, the Intel Matrix controller only supports 4 disks, so I would have to put the Raptors on the JMicron controller, which only has two SATA ports OR two IDE ports. So, I would have to mount my ODD drives externally. But, I could put USB adapters on them and run them off the internal USB ports with some creative wiring.

Looks like an all-nighter :geek:

I don't know that much about RAID :).

This is what I know:
RAID0 is for speed demons
RAID1 is for space hogs
RAID0+1 is RAID0 and RAID1 combined.
RAID5 is able to be done using Windows, though I don't know what it is.

I'll read the Wikipedia article some day.
