What Games Are You Playing?

Reading all replies here makes me feel ashamed

I dont get much time to play games but whenever i do i play call of duty 1 and medal of honor-pacific assault.Also i have NFS carbon and flight simulator x.

Seems i am generations behind new games lol

There nothing to be ashamed of. I myself have a lot of older games installed on my machine and jump into them from time to time. Heck im thinking of setting up some old game servers for a bunch of people to jump into, like UT99, battle field 1942, Quake 2.

Left4Dead series, BF2, Borderlands are a few I play and enjoy.

But, to be fair, Im not a huge FPS fan either.

I've been mostly playing World of Warcraft, Sonic Heroes, Frets on Fire X and Oblivion (or should I say Oldblivion) on my PC. My XBox however, I've been playing a lot of Fallout New Vegas and Soul Calibur 4.

Ive got $50 to spend, and am very undecided.

I was thinking about grabbing Dead Space 2.. or possibly go ahead and pick up Portal 2.

Just not sure if Portal 2 is worth the $50 ... was originally going to wait for a price drop.


At any count ... any other suggestions on something really good I may be overlooking?

Yea this is kinda what Im thinking too. Although I must admit, I did like Portal 1 and do want to play Portal 2.

And yes, I had a blast with Dead Space 1. Think I may give 2 a try.

I still need to pickup DA2 at some point, and place a Witcher 2 Pre-Order.

I was just looking at Witcher 2 on Steam, it looks good and if you pre-order now its 5 bucks cheaper so go grab a beer with the extra 5 lol.

OK, so I grabbed Dead Space2 (Through STEAM if that matters) and so far I am really enjoying it.

But .. since this is my first time ever playing the game .. Im slightly confused about something.

When I launched the game the first time,it activated and gave a message about a DLC. Ok, nice.

I am now at a point I came to a save point, and the very first Store Ive seen.


In the Store .. most everything is free, with the exception of just a couple items..
Is this normal?

Theres 1 suit for example that gives 5% Armor and 10 slots, and costs me 1000 credits to upgrade as seen here:




The rest are varying bonuses with 15 inv slots and 15% armor .. and just free, costing 0 credits.



Same with a ton of weapons.



As I said, this is my very first time playing the game so maybe this is all normal .. just seemed odd.

This is normal. You will have to purchase upgrades to armor and weapons. Other items for sale also include health packs, air, ammo, stasis packs, and nodes. Though nodes, air, health Packs, ammo, and stasis packs can be found throughout the game for free as well.

Not sure what DLC you got, I didn't get one, but it is possible that some things might turn up free with the DLC. Anyway upgrades and stuff will cost as I said above. So yeah, this is normal.

As you get deeper into the game it will be about managing your resources and you will find that you'll have to purchase some things more often. Also nodes help upgrade weapons and suits so manage them well. Here's a hint BTW - Always keep 1 node available

I got the original portal game I guess to see how fun that one is to see if il want the second one. Its pretty neat so far. I dont get all these references to free cake tough. That robot AI voice is pretty werid.

The cake thing will make more sense once you get threw more of the game.

Ah the cake, good times indeed. Yesterday i picked up Tactics Ogre: Let us Cling Together, for my psp. This thing is amazing, and challenging like crazy. One of the, if not the best tactical RPG ive played in years. I must have spent hours on it yesterday.

Homefront Anyone? I love this game, It put Games like Black Ops to shame... This game gives you a more realistic open world multiplayer feel... The graphics are great and the story leaves nothing to be desired, i give it a 9 out or 10...

Also ive taken a liking too portal 2, The physics engine is phenomenal, and the story is more than amazing. But the coop is a little hard to get used to because if your lacking a microphone it can be difficult, also getting the other player to recognize your plan is sometimes painstaking... But overall its a great game!
