As the title says I have no sound using HDMI in windows 7 x64 bit. I just built a new media PC specs are listed below. There are no unknown devices in device manager and I see the Nvidia high definition under the sound devices. My TV is a Sylvania 37in. The audio device that comes up is Funai TV which is what came up with my old build when I was using ATI 4650. When I play something with sound the device shows the green bar moving under volume but I cannot hear anything at all. This is a completely clean install of windows and I have downloaded and installed the most up to date drivers from Nvidia 270.61. I am at a loss right now and would like to try a few more things before returning the card an getting something else. Thanks in advance for your help.

First, the obvious. Is the HDMI set as the Default Playback device in the Control Panel/Hardware and Sound/Sound panel?

Second, can you install the ATI4650 in the new PC, and try that. That would isolate what/where the problem is.
