after installing IE9 , can't open a folder or a disk by double click

After installing IE9 from windows updates , can't open a folder or a hard disk by double clicking . Googling the problem found that there is a change in Registry in HKEY_CURRENT_USER/SOFTWARE/Microsft/Windows/CurrentVersion/explorer/MountPoints2 which probably affected by virus .The hard disk was full scanned four times by Ad-Aware , Spyware doctors , AVG and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and found nothing . I deleted the MountPoints2 in Registry but after restarting appeared again . As a solution of this problem I used the Restore point created by IE9 installation and return to IE8 and everything is Ok . The probable conclusion is that the virus must be installed in the new Registry created by the IE9 installation or is triggering by the IE9 installation since there is no problem with IE8 . By-passing windows updates and downloading IE9 from Microsoft Download center would be usefull ? Any help appreciated .

Obviously a fake message appears but who cares ? " the folder / disk you are trying to open is not associated with a program etc " bullshit , it's a virus game , that's all since the Restore point (coming back to IE8 ) solves the problem immediately .

No, thats not a fake message. It means your file associations may have been messed up by IE9. See this tut.

Bill2 , I very much appreciate for your interest but I have one more question for you . Is there any program to download to fix the problem of File type Associations or you may Know the Registry Key to export to Desktop with the File type associations and importing back after installing IE9 ?

I already linked you to Shawn's tut. Each of those downloads on that page is actually a .reg file which means when you double click and merge them into the registry you get it back to the default state. The reg files involve multiple keys, data and values, theres no single reg key that you can export then import back.

Shawn has already done the hard work getting these files ready, just use them. Why do you want to reinvent the wheel?

I have understood what you said , just had a fear that all File type associations have messed up , excep the Directory , Drive and Folder but the problem may be limited to these three , so there is no problem al all .*** Thanks again .

Bill2 , thanks a lot for your help . I used the .reg files for Directory , Drive and Folder repairing my Registry mess caused by IE9 and the problem disappeared. Everything is OK thanks to Shawn hard work . Windows 7 forum is the best.
