How to create a side by side merging of two texts?

I have two texts which are the same only in two languages.
I'd like to create a document that will show the texts side by side.
Is there a way to do that in Office or in another environment

Currently, the texts are in PDF format, but I could convert them to any format that will enable me to do the side-by-side merging of the documents.

The text length is ~300 pages.

Thanks,
BR.

The only way I can think of is the manual way --- and frankly, for a 300 page document, this could be an editing nightmare --- but it is doable. You can create a document with 2 columns. Put all of the 1st language text in one column and all of the 2nd language text in the other column.

Word will let you open more than one doc at a time. You could size the windows to get them side by side. That is probably not exactly what you want.

You need a programmers editor. I would do a search on the web. I had one a long time ago. It would let you open documents the way you are talking about. I have forgotten the name of the software.

Take a look at some of these

I would create a Word document and insert a table with one row and two columns. Paste the text from document 1 into the first cell of the table, and paste the text from document 2 into the other cell. The row will expand to accommodate all of the text - all 300 pages of it :) - and you should have the two lots of text side-by-side.

Excellent method, clunkfish. :D
