I reinstalled Windows 7 here recently and when I did I formated my HDD do I need to reinstall my motherboard drivers? I have been having video stuttering ever since I reinstalled Windows and formatted my drive? Could this be the cause of it?

Yes. Not only do you need to install your motherboard's chipset drivers, but you'll need to reinstall every device driver.

I installed the Motherboard and Video Card drivers and that did not fix the problem. Is there something important I am forgetting to install that would be affecting this?

If this doesn't fix your issue, then you're going to have to be more specific... both in terms of describing the issue and in filling in your system specs. Just answering generically may not help much... I need to know what machine you have and what you're trying to do with it.

Was having some issues so I formatted my harddrive and and reinstalled Windows 7 32bit on the harddrive. After it was all installed I was experiencing display/video stutter every 2 seconds like clockwork. I reinstalled the motherboard and video card drivers and I am still experiencing it. I tried reinstalling Windows again but that did not fix the problem. I switched monitors and still experienced it. Ran a video and game off of a small usb drive and still had the problem.

Whether I am playing a game, watching a video, browsing the web, or sitting idle I get this little split second stutter every couple seconds and it occurs like clockwork. This was not present because I reinstalled windows and formatted the drive so I am not sure if this is a driver issue, hard drive issue, or what.

Will download the DirextX but I don't think it will help, isn't DirectX only in fullscreen?

Click my system specs. When filled out, yours should look as full. Details get problems solved. :)

While you're at it, what was the first problem... they're probably related.

How hot is the card getting? Is is plugged in correctly, with the extra PCI-e plug?

Did you check performance using the drivers given by the Win7 installer first before changing out drivers?

This is not XP. MS spent a fortune getting the drivers into the Win7 installer or quickly updated via optional Windows Updates - even paying manufacturers to build drivers under WHQL so that they wouldn't hold out to force us to buy newer hardware as they did in Vista, and so MS would have them first for testing and distribution.

We see problems here a lot where XPired methods cause users to swap out all of the drivers given by the installer before testing performance, requiring a clean reinstall to correct. I would only swap out drivers where performance indicates a driver is a problem.

Original problem was that it was cluttered with crap and was running slower. Didn't feel like cleaning so I backed up important things and redid it.

Listed my specs as best I could.

Can't find drivers for my hard drive. I don't think its a physical problem since this problem wasn't present before I redid it. Not entirely sure where to look because when I installed this motherboard a year ago I also reformatted the drive only drivers I remember reinstalling was my motherboard and my GPU.

Like Greg just explained, 7 has a great driver store. You won't need to install any drivers for your HDD.

Agreed, the problem isn't your HDD; however, it just might be that G92? How hot is it getting, is the fan spinning, is it seated correctly and plugged in?

Usually when you see stuttering, it's during heaving gaming and the fix for that is the mmcss tweak, but that won't help you... even you tube and browsing creates stutters... which makes me think it's the card that's failing.

Are you running:
GeForce/ION Driver v270.61
Version:
270.61 WHQL
Release Date:2011.04.18
from NVIDIA DRIVERS 270.61 WHQL

If so, try reinstalling your video card making sure card and all the contacts are clean.

If this fails, try testing your RAM:
RAM - Test with Memtest86+

Here are tips for getting a perfect reinstall if you want to start over to test how the drivers given by the installer perform: Reinstalling Windows 7

There won't be drivers for the hard drive itself but rather the controller on the motherboard. Who made the PC or motherboard? You might want to let us know what the manufacture of the video card is too. If he PC is an HP, Dell, Lenovo or other brands will all the hardware that came with it, you should be able to find the drivers on their site easily.

Was advised on my other thread to clean my card which seems to have done the trick. Before I redid my computer I do remember half ass cleaning my card so that might have cause the problem.

I believe what Greg is suggesting is that the generic drivers in Win 7 will often do as good or better a job than the manufacturers drivers. I have often found this to be the case myself.

Whenever I need to change or add hardware in any PC or server, I take it outside and use an air compressor to blow it out well.
