I wanted to cut the evo out of the below picture (in preparation for a new sig ) i have not done it perfect but...

I am a little stumped though and i hope this isn't out of my league but how do i remove the green fields in the car windows but retain a smooth glass effect?

I wouldn't mind tinted windows at all, not sure how to retain a smooth effect though, i'm sure mine would come out solid and wouldnt look realistic

Can someone point me in the right direction - maybe there is a tut on this sort of thing?

I was going to blank the number plate out but i did forget about the 'Evolution' text on the boot (trunk ) i will remove that too and just leave the Mitsubishi logo.

Removing the 'Evolution' text was harder than first thought lol so i have flipped it back and blanked the number plate out.

Dobsy, that is a darn good job of a cutout. Much better than mine...unless I spend hours on it.
As for the windows you could cutout each one and then do gray-white gradient in each. May work.
Or use a cloning brush to wipe off the trees, there's not really too much landscape seen in the windows.
For tinted select the window area and adjust brightness and contrast a bit. Maybe, I'm a real noob at this.

I use Corel Draw Graphics Suite 5x.
In cutting out the car I used a bezier tool.
Then I used an eraser tool to get rid of the grassy background in the car windows.
To erase I started out with a small tip to outline the grassy area closest to the car window then a larger size to erase the larger areas. Erasing gave me the transparent background.
This was done rather quickly as one could cut out or erase whatever one wants to show behind the car.
There are other methods but I like this one the best. It works for me but may not work for all.
