The differences between the Pro and the Home Premium doesn't seem to be significant to me. So far the virtualization of XP doesn't solve any of the incompatibilities I have experienced with the Release Candidate. I've pre-ordered directly from Microsoft. Hopefully I won't regret my switch back from OSX.

I ordered as soon as I saw the email! The 64.99 price is for Canada. Still a good deal if you ask me. Anyone know if they will be packaging the 64bit version with the 32bit version?

Does anyone know if one of these retailers accepts PayPal? I checked all of them and from what I can tell everyone wants a credit card, which I don't have. There were three or four that didn't have the pre-order on their sites yet...unless one of them accepts PayPal it looks like I'm out of luck.
PayPal will take money from a checking or savings account. Though some websites that 'accept' PayPal will only let you use it for a credit card payment and not an e-check.

So if you buy the "upgrade" disc to get a good price, and have W7 build on, do you have to reinstall the preinstalled Vista image that came with the machine just to show it to the W7 install disc?
One thing MS decided to was take out some of the extra weight seen when piling extras into the OS when deciding what to do on 7! Since Vista overtook many by surprise of being much larger then XP they finally realized Windows was simply going to get bigger and too much with each newer version unless....? something like "7" came along!
The improved shadow copy feature for backup will be seen in the Ultimate being one thing to consider for the higher price however while not seeing all of the bloat of the progressively larger gui/core.

I imagine you would the exact same method used for a VIsta upgrade disk to see a full install of 7 since both are very close in methods there. Clean Install From Upgrade Vista - Vista Forums

It appears all those that have been trying Windows 7 RC get the special upgrade deal too. I received an email saying.
