Do you know anything about this nonsense that i encountered?

I tried to download the standalone version (no installer). No response until I temporarily allowed (NoScript, firefox) some cloud... entry. Then I get a message that no download for me because I've blocked adverts.

Very, very wierd.

What do you know about this? I'm contemplating removing the link to siw and to stop recommending it if one can't get a non-installer version thereof.

Well, as you said, it's a wonder it's free. They obviously need the ad revenue. At least it's not like Avira, who made it so if you want the new Webguard, you must install the Ask toolbar!

I've been working my way thru all of the info that the new version provides.

Simply amazing.

I'd recommended it before to those who needed info about their system for filling out their system specs, but with the wealth of info. I will probably start suggesting it to those with various problems to ascertain what they really have on their computer.
