Solved Can't UNinstall MicroSoft Office Home and Student 2007 - Error 1402

And i was sent this email:

BUT I ran into difficulties in the CLEAN BOOT STEP:

The "c." above doesn't make sense to me!!
Do you mean, just randomly, select any "half of the check boxes"?
Which check boxes??? Very confusing!
I got this far, but don't dare to proceed.

Prep

Alway prep for the unexpected.

1. Do a full backup of the registry.
2. Create a restore point.
3, Create an image for restoring in case of crash.

Put all files where you know they are located and will be available for getting out of a bind.

If there is any of the above you aren't familiar with, ask questions.

I got this far, but don't dare to proceed.

Let's say you've got a total of 40 startup processes and you suspect one of them might be causing problems. By selecting half (the first 20) you'd reboot. If the problem appears you'd know that the offending startup item is within those first 20 services. If the problem is not apparent, you'd uncheck the first 20 and then check the remaining 20 processes. Once you know which half has the problem process you'd check the first 10, then (if necessary) the second 10. From this you'd narrow down the offending process to 1 of 10. Then do 5 and 5, then do 2 and 3 until you've narrowed it down as far as you can go. Your final step would be to check each of the remaining 2 (or 3) individual processes by checking first one and then the other and rebooting each time.

Here is an uninstaller program: Download Revo Uninstaller Freeware - Free and Full Download - Uninstall software, remove programs, solve uninstall problems
After installing, run it and see if Office 2007 is listed in the window. If so select it to run the uninstaller with moderate options, this will give you the option after uninstall runs, to delete registry items. I suspect since it was bundles on your machine there is some registry entry which keeps resurrecting it.

I'd make sure to backup the registry "just in case" something is deleted that shouldn't be deleted.

That sounds laike way too many entries, rerun it with "Safe" settings, and create restore before uninstalling.

Hmmm...
I also tried the "RipOutOffice2007: Completely Uninstall Microsoft Office 2007" ,
but 'ms Office Home & Sutdent 2007' is still there.
Within the RipOutOffice2007 process, it started up the 'msOffice...2007 Install'.
What a mess...

If i were to purchase the 'Revo Uninstaller PRO' will it do the Backup/Restore for me?
And remove OfficePrograms?
I'd rather do that & get it done properly, than farkle around anymore.

Different File

Do a search for this file and use it. It has worked for me in the past.

msiccu2.exe ---- It is by microsoft and as I said before it has worked for me.


In regedit.exe "Export" will give you a *.reg file that you can click on and it will write the contents to the registry.

Make sure computer is highlitghted so that you get the entire contens of the registry. No it is not exactly the same as a restore point.

When done with msiccu2 call up win explorer and search down thru the tree and delete any MS office files and directorys that you see. This is just an added step that I always do.

When you say "still there", still where be more specific. Describe what is left.

Duh?

I would say that is impossible, but nothing is impossible.

First check programs and features in control panel. Is there still an entry for MS Office?
Check your directory tree with win explorer. Are there still entries, files directories etc. in it?
If you have loaded Revo. Right click on it and select run as administrator if there is an entry for MS Office run the uninstall while in admin mode
Then right click the MS uninstaller (msiccu2.exe) which you should have an icon for by now. Right click it and run as administrator. There probably will be some files and directories in your win explorer tree that you will have to manually delete.

Account Permissions

Is the account you log on with an adminstrator account?

I am going to post a link for you to read. You need to read and reread it do that you fully grasp it. I don't know your skill level so I would be very cautious. When you start regedit, if you decide to do so, right click it and run in admin mode.

msOffice Home and Student 2007' is still in Add/Remove pgms.
You say msiccu2.exe , what i ran was msicuu2.exe .

Skill level: I am a senior citizen, so, not as sharp as I used to be. That's why I am willing to buy Revo_UninstallerPRO, and be done with it. If it will do the trick.

Yes I ran all with AdminPriviledges.

I did a search ('AgentRansack Free', I highly recommend it.) on C:\ for *.msi
and I see there are 357 *.msi files. I am surprised that there is no msOffice*.msi

I don't think paying for Revo Pro will do any more than the free one as far as uninstalling goes.
You did try uninstalling through Programs and Features?

Hmm, it may be you have deleted the msoffice uninstaller somewhere along the line.
