PSU Recommendations for ASUS EAH6850

If your choice is saving some money but still getting a top rated PSU then go non-modular, you can always zip tie the unused bundle and tuck out of the way. But the key here is that the PSU is a vital key component and one if purchased wisely will outlast your CPU and mobo's several times over! With that in mind I would buy as much power and quality as you can and look at non-modular first then lower wattage modular second.

I have to agree with innemeyerhere, modular is nice to have, but people have been using non modular for years without issue. What is most important is good quality and as much as you can affoard. I use modular, but have often wondered if it was worth the premium you pay for it. The real difference is with non modular, you have to be a bit more creative with your wire management.

@boogieboy I think OCZ are so high-quality they aren't available in my country.

@essenbe @essenbe My current one isn't modular and the guys from the store zipped the unused wires and put them so as not to cause trouble. So I won't look for modular so much as I do for high-quality and reliability. If I get the chance I'd buy the TX650, I think it's the best choice from all PSUs that have been recommended to me.

Thanks... so modular PSUs aren't that beneficial. It depends on the money tho. If I find a modular PSU at a reasonable price, I'll buy it.

That is a shame, it is antec's affordable quality line...

Well the EAH6850 is $240 in my country whereas it's $180 at Newegg, so everything is sort of more expensive here and Newegg don't ship to Europe.

For $240 at Newegg I'd have bought both PSU and the EAH6850 but here it is $360 xD

Thanks but I doubt I'd do that. I chose the Corsair TX650 ... and even tho it's expensive here, all my money went away so by the time I save more, the price will have probably dropped, or a new series of PSU's from Corsair will have come out for about the same price ; )

Good choice as many here use and tout the Corsair as one of if not the best PSU manufactured today.
