Mozilla is always looking at ways it can improve Firefox and has not shied away from experimentation. However, with the new rapid release cycle, we may start seeing the results of these experiments a lot sooner than before.

One example is a proposed UI revamp, which is only in mockup form now, but which already looks promising.

The aim of the revamp seems to be simplifying the few remaining UI elements, the tab bar in particular.

I like it. With tabs in the title bar I can use the bookmarks bar to store my all time fav sites I visit every day, keep everything else under the usual bookmarks , and still have enough screen space to go blind

I love it. Improving the best browser already. The only reason most people use IE is because it comes on their computer. IE sucks, and Chrome is full of spyware.

exactly what i believe mozilla is doing with ff 8. loosing users to chrome and trying to woo them back by making ff look like chrome instead of doing what they do best which is making the best browser out there even better. like most users using ie because it is already on the system, most chrome users are there because every time they go to google or a google site chrome is presented to them. users see mention of chrome far more than they see mention of firefox. now if chrome had the pluggins/addons that firefox does then it might be a real contender.

very Chrome-esque but I think it looks nice (considering I'm using chromifox on 3.6 and it's my favorite theme)

stylistically this is much better than FF4/5 - an opera clone - not knocking Opera, I like it too.

possilby may suffer from form over function - but it sounds interesting, any video it in use?

It's alright I guess, if someone makes a new and functional UI which is visually appealing at the same time - others will make their own adaptations of it. It seems all the major browsers have a similar UI now .. which is not a bad thing. It helps the non-technical people to switch browsers smoothly. I too actually like the newer look of FF (4+).
