Service Pack 1 Help, CSI Manifest thing?

Hello forum.

I just got a new computer a few days ago, and just began updates. However, the two updates that I can't complete for ___ error is the Windows Service Pack 1 update and the security update for windows 7 for x64 - based systems.

The errors I continually get (I've pressed try again at least 20 times) are two errors: Windows help says that a file is corrupted, or something along those lines.

Do forgive me, but I don't remember the exact file name, but I downloaded the ~300 Mb file off of the Windows 7 help site, which scans your computer or something, and eventually you have to check the SUR file....

I'm in the event viewer. I'm not quite sure what I am supposed to look for. However, there are several logs/posts about Windows Error Reporting, Event 1001.

I'm not sure what else to look for.

I have done the Update Readiness tool. I posted the entire log above, but I am not sure what to do with it.

I have considered installing the entire system pack from the Windows site. However, it recommended that I don't do that, as I am using one computer (and it is much, much bigger in size).

Is there anything I can do to clarify my issue? I'm unsure exactly what to do.

FYI.

As SP1 is causing such a problem for some people it may be quicker to go direct to the "experts" at Microsoft for their solution.
My understanding is there is no charge.
