Freedom and privacy, in any meaningful sense, are dead. I know, I know ... I've written about this topic before but that was in the context of our "factual" privacy, which is about access to what you might think of as "static" data about you. Now we have to recognize the death of our "realtime" or "lifestream" privacy: the freedom to go about our business unobserved and anonymously.

Factual privacy is different from lifestream privacy. The former is about access to facts such as the color of your hair and eyes, your ethnicity, your height and weight, your income, your cholesterol level and so on. Those are all data points that create a snapshot of you.

I have been screaming for a long time that privacy/freedoms are being stripped away from everyone over a long period of time. It's been pushed by government/corporations etc and all in the name of protecting us from ourselves and /or terrorism/and or profits etc.
Doubt it matters because the world is massively over populated and we are in the process of burning our way through the worlds "finite" resources as fast as and the rise of the the "3rd" world sure as hell isn't going to stop that.
We are facing an uncertain future imo and so long as we keep going the way we are things will not improve.. personally i don't care as I'm 57 now and thankfully won't be around to see the fking mess our children and there children will have to cope with.
Besides no one listens. As long as society is driven by the dollar/greed we are condemmed and people by and large are too self centered/apathetic to say enough is enough.
