By administrator I mean the one you have to unhide using the policy editor.

If you didnt follow the tutorial on enabling the hidden built in administrator account then your just a user who happens to have some admin powers.

Well since I am trying to see what runs and what doesn't for the average user I haven't gone threw brought the Admin out.
So far I have yet to see the reason to regedit the hidden account out yet, yeah the prompts do get to me from time to time but they slowly go away.

I dont see why anyone needs to use it unless there's a problem with their usual account, I don't use it because the built-in administrator account just runs with virtualization and UAC disabled and also causes problems with some older xp/2000 applications (i.e. CivilCad & Visual Studio) that need the virtualization to run properly on Vista/Win7.

The standard Admin User (not the hidden one) works just fine.
Using the SuperAdmin (the hidden one) is a security issue. If a virus gets in with that, it has full run of your sys.

You can also just run a single command from the run box to enable it.

I run as standard admin by default although I do have the Hidden Admin enabled (with a secure password) for any worst case scenario

I use the first manually created account, which is an Administrator.

If you voted User, it means you have to type a username and password every time you try and do something which requires Administrator access. Somehow I think 37.5% is incorrect.

EDIT - My bad. I see people are voting "User" even though they'r really using an "Administrator" account.

This poll would be more accurate if we had three options.

1. Hidden Administrator
2. Administrator
3. User

If it's the disabled one, you just uncheck "Account is disabled"....or maybe your talking about making it visible under control panel users with gpedit? If you are talking about another one, can you tell me where in gpedit it is so I don't spend a lot of time finding it?

You dont even need to gpedit it. launch cmd and type net user administrator / active and presto. to disable net user administrator /inactive (or disabled if wanted)

I use a "standard" user account with administrator privileges (in the Administrators Group).

If one is providing support for others then its best to emulate the most common environment.

I do turn the UAC setting down because it is annoying.

Now.... I still right click and select "Run As Administrator" which I think should be unnecessary as I am ALREADY logged in as administrator. Has anyone else noticed this to be necessary?

not really, just some pointless add-on in the context menu's. well for me that's all it is, i never use it, my privileges are enough to allow me to do what needs to be done.
