Just bought an Asus N53S and literally the first thing I did was install Assassins Creed (from a real DVD and everything, not a download). When I restarted I was directed to the system recovery console which gave me an error message which I think is related to a video card driver. However, it could not fix the problem so I tried a system restore which also failed to remedy the problem. Now I'm out of options. It's a brand new machine and despite spending a small fortune I haven't been provided with a copy of Win7 which would allow me to format and do a fresh install.
So..... how do I fix this problem? How do I fix an issue which I think is related to the graphics card drivers if I cannot boot up into Windows? How do I fix a problem that the recovery console cannot fix and that reverting to an earlier restore point will not fix either? And how can I format if I don't have a copy of Win7?
You should have a way of making a set of recovery disks that will let you restore to factory condition if you cannot otherwise fix the problem. Consult your documentation for how to do that.

Wait for more info from someone better informed than I am, but I think you can even use a borrowed copy of Windows 7 if you have a proper product key. Don't panic. I'm pretty sure we can find a workaround, but I'm not highly qualified on the subject.

As it's a new computer, your first step should be to contact Asus for a set of recovery discs. Just tell them you tried to create your own set, but they are corrupted.
If you want a clean install you can use your Asus product key with a Windows DVD.
Well since you didn't do much to the os yet and didn't really install much reboot and hit F9 that should give you the option to reimage to factory conditions and start over. Unless you already put a lot files and such than back those up and reset to factory.
