So, yesterday, i've been playing Deus Ex: HR for six hours straight... And it's great.
Hard to get myself to stop playing and exit game, it's so addictive xD

At the start of the game, after i was checking out the room for like 15 minutes (while Megan was nagging me non stop to go go go), got Old School Gamer achievement. Surprise! xD

Must... not... play... it... now... Must... do... some... work... first...

Just finished BFBC2 and playing Alice Madness Returns + Crysis 2 + NFS: Shift 2 Unleashed.

Two questions:
Is BFBC2 better than Modern Warfare 1? (I don't have MW2 on PC yet )
and
Is Shift 2 a great improvement on Shift, and is it visually better than Hot Pursuit?
(as I'm really interested in Shift 2 and BFBC2, but wondering if I should get them now or wait for the price to drop a bit further)

BFBC2 is much better, imo..

- great fun, if you can find a well-balanced game online..!!
- being a good team-player pays dividends, if you work in 4-man squads..

- good maps, very realistic terrain, etc..

BFBC2 is a good game but i personally think that MW1 was better than BFBC2 but here i'm talking about SP Campaign not MP.


I only played Shift 1 for about 2 hours i remember and i think but Shift 2 Unleashed is actually improved in terms of Graphics and Gameplay both and yes its way better than Hot Pursuit coz HP was a disaster for me and it was just like playing Burnout Paradise

Yeah I just picked it up today and have to agree it a great game thus far. Kind of reminds me of Deus Ex 1 with all the options and so forth. In a funny kind of way it kind of has that old school Deus Ex feel.

I am a little disappointed in the graphics though as they look a little dated to me for a DX11 title.

Anyway you can definitely tell right off the bat that this game has tons of replayability with all the various ways/options to accomplish a mission.

Yeah It's definitely addictive and fun game. And even though I just started I can tell it's definitely worth the $50 bucks.

Its a shame about Alice MR, never seen such a buggy game since Saboteur...had great potential (both of 'em!)

what kind of bugs are you facing? i hardly see any bugs so far in AMR.....

What's wrong with The Saboteur, too
It works well... on nVidia cards

I had good luck with Alice, and actually enjoyed it.

However, it did require editing the .ini file. Removing the Framerate cap of 30FPS, and setting it at 60FPS made a huge difference, at least for me.

After than the game played quite well.


What is it doing?

If your getting lots of slowdown in combat, try lowering the PhysX setting to Low, so thats its done on the CPU.
Med-High are GPU PhysX settings,.
The PhysX is also not very well optimized. But should do well on Med. High really does make a huge performance hit in this game for not not much in return, visually.

Just finished Deus EX: HR. Not gonna write an essay or anything, all I'm going to say is the game really does define "freedom of choice". So many different ways to approach missions or obstacles, you can be as lethal or as non-lethal as you want to be. The cover system, I think, is superb, one of the best I've played. It can get very addicting.

Playing Batman: Arkham Asylum on the PS3. Mate leant it to me and I'm amazed by it. Also play World of Tanks on the PC (when it works!).

OK, I'm almost afraid to ask this (jealous) but who's got Deus EX: Human Revolution? I don't, finances holding me back

Anyway thoughts?

I am playing it now, it is a very good game.
