Looking for a suggestion (gadget creation)

If the title makes no sense then sorry.

Anyways, Hello everyone! I am going to attempt making my first gadget for Windows Vista/7.

Although only one issue prevents me from attempting this, I do not know what to make!

So I want people to tell me what kind of gadget they would like to see, try to be as detailed as possible when suggesting something to please.

I could really use a group chat gadget, and a customizible sensor gadget for things like temp (im using core temp), fragmentatiion of HD, list of highest ram apps, etc.

A twitter gadget would be interesting....then I could not have to install Adobe AIR....

Also, A Mozilla profile selector gadget for running multiple copies of Mozilla apps using separate profiles side by side....

Perhaps a gadget that lets you know about each new W7 leak. And lets you download and install it.

Actually, a gadget that let you change your Power settings quickly and easily would be nice. I use that enough that it would be nice.

Are you talking about the leak gadget? Ha.

I don't know how hard the Power Saving gadget would be. It would be much nicer to have all my power plans on my desktop to change that easily.

Lol was refering to the Power Options one actually, the leak one could probably be done with using a Torrent site search engine link, keywords: Win 7 RTM

What do you use to write the gadgets? Code wise I mean.

.xml, .html and usually JScript files are the core components of Gadgets.

Codes would vary on the type of gadget.

Interesting. Don't know enough of either of those to even try writing anything. I don't even know that much Java and I took a class on it for two years. :sarc:

How about a combination gadget? One that has all the junk in it.
You could put 1-4 CPU icons with a usage meter, and the temps above the meter.
Also some HDD temp and fragmentation variants would be nice.
What else . . . how about some quick lists, like an icon to quick jump to a deep folder in the Windows Folder, or something customizable like that.
Other cool features would be . . .*thinks* . . .

I like this. What if you made a.... I dunno what you would call it.
You could put in lots of monitors. CPU, RAM, frag, etc. As well as all that, there could be a folder bookmarks menu, where you can bookmark and access popular folders (very useful!), as well as a power options, maybe Resolution or themes...........

Maybe I'll have a go at it again whenever I get time to.

I was just going to make a simple RSS feeder one for here, and just a general weather one, maybe you can think about one of those ideas.

Maybe a gadget that could reference computer issues . . .like a quik search gadget that is tied into multiple search engines . . if thats even possible . . don't know, just a thought.
