Unable to Install Anything, Error says I need to be Admin

Ok So I recently got a virus on my computer and it really wasn't going away with any anti virus program so I reinstalled Windows 7 from scratch.

Everything seemed to go off without a hitch and all drivers were found and the like BUT after about a day or so I couldn't install any programs. I've tried ITunes, The new Office Suite, Enterprise but nothing seems to install. I keep getting an error message that I need to "Install as Administrator" even though I'm on the adminstrator account, AND when I click "Run as Administrator" it still doesn't install. ITunes spit out the error that I was running in Safe Mode when I wasn't at all. :shock:

I'm just at wits end. Should I reinstall Windows 7 again? Could I have gotten another Virus? It just seems really really odd.

Edit: Also the version of Windows 7 I installed WAS not the same version I got when purchasing the Laptop. I recieved it through MSDNA from my college.

Just to try something simple first.
Try disabling UAC (user account control) and running the install.
If that works leave it off while installing apps and then just turn it back on when done.

Also, maybe try system repair utility by pressing F8 before you see the boot logo start to get into advanced startup otions; you should see an option for it.

One question is: An Enterprise version is an enterprise version and not for a standalone system. What "company" do you you work for?

Now to address your problem, which is actually quite serious because that means any program installed will be running with your computer wide open to whatever the program desires to install.

It's water under the bridge now, but you should have used the DiskPart's Clean All command to overwrite each and every byte on your disk with zeroes which would also zero out any root kits.

As it is, I recommend running the Microsoft Standalone System Sweeper.

Download System Sweeper (about 576 kB):

Insert 256 MB or larger USB stick into a usb port.

Run the downloaded program--mssstool64.exe or mssstool32.exe

Choose the option to install to USB.
Caution: The install program will format the usb stick.

The install program will download about 200 mB more.

After the install is finished, leave the stick in the usb slot.

Run the program you downloaded once again.

This 2nd run, and any subsequent runs, will download the very latest anti-virus definitions (about 60 mB).

To keep System Sweeper up-to-date, simply reinsert the usb stick and run the installation program, mssstool64.exe or mssstool32.exe, again.

The initial, full scan by System Sweeper can easily take several hours, but subsequent quick scans will be shorter.

Remember, your computer is being very thoroughly checked for all types of malware.

The results of System Sweeper will be in:
\Windows\Standalone System Sweeper\Support as one or more files with a LOG extension which can be viewed with Notepad.
