Solved SSD space is disappearing. Troublshooted almost everything already.

I feel like I'm talking to the wall.

Read the instructions I gave. You will see that should only be two programs still checked.

Post me a startup.txt file that so indicates.

Seriously? I'm not trying to be rude, but did you even read my post???

Here is what I said:

I deleted the faulty file and ran a QUICK SCAN. It took only a few minutes this time and nothing popped up when the scan finished. No log was created from the quick scan either. Only the previous log from the full scan still remains.

Here is the startup file as requested.

ZyngaGamesAgent, STCagent, and Adobebridge were all deselected from the startup menu, but it still defaults to being added in the startup lineup.

What's next?

For the time-being, until we've found the fly in the ointment, then the uninstall of those programs is necessary.

They should not be "rechecking". Something is NOT correct with those programs.

Okay. I will uninstall them. The zyngagamesagent and STCagent came with Windows 7 when I installed it.

i have the same motherboard. Zyagna games is from Asrock, and i had an extremely hard time deleting it. I really don't recall how I did it. It may be under Stardock or I went to program files and deleted it there, I really can't remember. I only remember that every time I deleted it, it returned next startup.

Good. After the uninstall, then post another startup.txt file. There is the possibility that a "friend" program is the guilty party. I hope not because that will be more problematic to run down.

Ah, interesting. I looked at the folder they came from and found the program named as "Splashtop" under my programs list. I uninstalled it and it removed all of it. It appears it didn't come back. So, good news there.

Might be a good time to mention Revo Uninstaller, since it does a nice registry scan after the uninstall.

SNsCPU,

OK. As I see it, you've cleaned out the viruses and malware. You have removed some unruly programs and improved the startup time.

Now the big question is:

If you run CCleaner, both the Cleaner and the Registry portion thereof, then is the problem solved?

Don't worry, the Registry portion of CCleaner will not cause your computer to crash and burn. I run the Registry portion at least once a day. CCleaner will also save a copy of the registry before cleaning if you desire.

Hope we've got the problem source eliminated.

Then either some of the cracked software or some of the installed software is causing your problem.

Probably the quickest solution, time-wise, is going to be:
1. back up to an external usb stick or drive all data dear to your heart.
2. Use the diskpart clean all command to 100% wipe the disk clean
3. Install Win 7 afresh.
4. Install MSE
5. Install all critical, all important and all optional updates.
6. Make a system image backup of the hard drive.
7. Install not your most popular programs, but the most needed and from reputable sources. No BitTorrent, No Vuze, No SplashConnect. No Daemon Tools.
8. Make another system image backup
9. You get the idaa--install legit programs and make a fresh system image backup at major points.
10. Make very liberal use of System Restore points.

Peer to peer (P2P) software is an open invitation to hackers.

Sounds good. Thanks for the help.

I know we want to point the finger at corrupted software/application, but there are three other confirmed systems with the same applications without this issue (MS Office and Adobe Creative Suite). One of them is my laptop. Furthermore, this was an issue that started BEFORE any 3rd party applications were installed. As stated, this system was just built two months ago and it wasn't until recently that I started to put programs on as I needed.

The very first time I noticed my space capacity issue was when I only had Windows 7 installed and I proceeded to install Starcraft II (legit original copy, first major application of any sort to go on this new drive) on my C: to notice there was hardly enough comfortable space left on it for me to install it there.

That said, I just wanted to preface this in case others read this in the future so we aren't putting the sole answer on malware/virus and have the trail stop here just because we've exhausted all other areas.

Again, I really appreciate everyone's help. I will do a complete fresh install with Windows only and monitor from there over a few days and report back. :D
