hello everyone,

I have joined this forum in order to get some help with the random BSOD problem I have experienced over the last couple of weeks and put an end to this frequent annoying sudden crashes that I can not pinpoint the reason as to why. Getting these BSODs are a surprise, because as you can see my computer specs are pretty top notch and I have never ever got one BSOD before this stretch, but in the last while, I am thinking that maybe the problem is the 2 old IDE hard drives that I added to my computer? or the 2 old IDE dvd drives hooked up? I have also uninstalled peerblock after driver verifier indicating that its driver is a problem and reinstalled AVira antivirus program.

While I have tried my best by testing my computer and reading the debug files also testing the hard drives by chkdisk, updating all of my drivers to the latest drivers, running driver verifier and googling the problem also. I have come to my wits end and would like some help/assistance regarding my BSODs. I have attached the required zip file with all the debug and system info.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Though even the driver verified crashes point to the OS I am fairly confident this is your problem.

ASACPI.SYS

The pre 2009 version of this driver is a known BSOD cause.

Please visit this link: ASUS teK Computer Inc. -Support- Drivers and Download P7P55D LE
ASUSTeK Computer Inc. -Support- Drivers and Download P7P55D LE

Scroll down to the Utilities category, then scroll down to the "ATK0110 driver for WindowsXP/Vista/Windows 7 32&64-bit" (it's about the 12th item down).
Download and install it.
Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers to check and make sure that the ASACPI.SYS file is date stamped from 2009 or 2010 (NOT 2005).

thanks for the quick reply zigzag3143 and thanks for your help.
I have repped your account.

i have installed the driver you indicated.
do you think this is the only problem causing the BSOD? or is there anything else that is causing this problem too?
I am free now to use peerblock now right? Also is Azureus maybe a problem too?

I hope that this is the end of my problems and nothing is wrong with my hardware.
Thanks for your help again.

damn, another BSOD has struck me again and it is the same dump message. I looked in computer management event viewer and found an reocurring error that occurs right before the crashes.

"The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load:
mv61xx"

Do you think maybe this is the problem? If it is how do I go abouts fixing it.
Thanks for you help as always

P.S. I have attached the new dump file.

i have already installed the ASACPI.SYS driver it and verified it to be 2009. But after this I am still getting the BSOD.
That is why I am thinking it is another problem? Do you see any other driver problems?
