hi. for about a year or so, my pc was working fine enough for me, here and there sumtihng would mess up in it and i would have to get my brother to help me, but now i am smart in building computer and that kind of thing. i took good care of it as i mainly used it for games and downloading, and last week, first day of australia school holidays, i was playing call of duty 6 when my computer blue screened, at first i tohught it was BSOD but it only lasted a few second before shutting my pc down.

i catched a small glimps of what some of it said "shutting down windows in case of system damage" or atleast i tihnk it said that. so i tunred it on and went into google chrome to search it up. crashed again. it kept crashing about 6 times before i gave up and re-installed windows. this time i installed 64-bit as i was using 32-bit.

evrything went fine for about 2 days, re-installed steam and my games, i was playing new vegas about 40 mins ago when i got the blue screen again. so now i am re-installing windows again in hope it wont happen again, but if it does... anyone know why it might be happening?

if you do, plz leave a post in this thread.

We do need the DMP file as it contains the only record of the sequence of events leading up to the crash, what drivers were loaded, and which one was responsible.

You may be able to get the DMP files without crashing by booting into safe mode (F8) with networking.

To enable us to assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder.

The procedure:

* Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
* Zip up the copy.
* Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.
*If the files are too large please upload them to a file sharing service like "Rapidshare" and put a link to them in your reply.

To ensure minidumps are enabled:

* Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl, press Enter.
* Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery Settings... button.
* Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked.
* Under the Write Debugging Information header select Small memory dump (256 kB) in the dropdown box (the 256kb varies).
* Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as %systemroot%\Minidump.
* OK your way out.
* Reboot if changes have been made.
