BUZZZ. I have to buzz you on that. It has to be in the recent past, say 50 years. It wouldn't be fair to have a silent movie as the original and then say "WOW that remake sure was a lot better when they added sound to it".:)

The remake was a good movie, but the original with just the suspense and no real special effects, will always be my favorite. They really only showed the creature at the end. A Guy

Is that because all re-makes were actually worse than the original, or because you began watching whilst thinking about the original, remembering the original actors, and constantly thinking about changes from the original?

Were you able to watch the remake as a separate film, or was your attention always focused on it being a remake of an old classic?

Accepting the reality that a remake can never truly be watched without remembering back to the original, and that how much it is accepted by an audience will, for the most part, have been decided in advance, or based upon unobtainable expectations, it is possible for a remake better than the original to exist?

It's "Night at the Museum". In a Zoo. With Kevin James. 'nuff said really.

Good for when in the need of something insubstantial to watch. Not the worst in these 'type' of movies.

(Although there needs to be a law against CGI characters 'doing a song'. It's becoming an unwelcome mandatory staple.)
