it is possible to use full 4gb ram in win7 x86 if yes then how?
if not then how to use wastage ram for fast performance?

1) No. You need Win 7 64bit.
2) Get Windows 7 64bit.

I would not go trying to tweak the system to use less RAM etc. All youll accomplish is making thing actually slower.


Also, as recommended, moving to 64bit will be the best way to may use of all your RAM.
Keep in mind, your Win7 key is not 32 or 64 bit specific.

So you can install the 64bit version, and your key will activate it without issue.

Yes, it's possible to access 4Gig from 32 bit Win 7. I've been doing it for a while and never had any problems at all.

Find "4GB-RAMPatch-Multilingual-12.7.2010.exe" and run it.

That is not correct. While Windows 7 DVDs do include every possible edition on one disc, they come as either 32-bit or 64-bit. Not both on one disc.

That's a hack of unknown origin and while it may work, it runs inside the Windows kernel and with full privileges over the entire system. To trust something like this not to mess up your system is insane... It also violates licensing agreements with Microsoft.

According to Microsoft it's possible for a 32-bit system to access more than 4 GB of physical memory providing PAE (physical address extension) is explicitly enabled.

With PAE, the operating system moves from two-level linear address translation to three-level address translation. Instead of a linear address being split into three separate fields for indexing into memory tables, it is split into four separate fields: a 2-bit field, two 9-bit fields, and a 12-bit field that corresponds to the page size implemented by Intel architecture (4 KB). The size of page table entries (PTEs) and page directory entries (PDEs) in PAE mode is increased from 32 to 64 bits. The additional bits allow an operating system PTE or PDE to reference physical memory above 4 GB.

Seems this might be a safer option than trusting some hack.

Actually the Intel 386 chip could use 48 bit addressing using the Segment Descriptor Table. Apparently nobody wanted to write the OS to take advantage of it. 4 GB seemed like a huge space then. Plus MS got the guys from DEC who did VMS, which used a flat 32 bit address space, to write NT. It was just easier to let them apply their experience rather than complicating things.
