I'm putting this POST into this section as I'm not sure exactly where it should go - please advise .

I have WIN 7 64-bit Home Premium with MS Ofice 2003.

After copying some files to a DVD I continue to get a message saying that these files are still available for copying. I would like to get rid of whatever it is which is causing this message but don't know where to look for these files so that I can remove them as I have finished with the copying of files at the moment.

Where am I likely to find the files mentioned in this message , please ?

Hi thenoo, their is a method to get rid of the message, but can't remember how to. I would insert a dvd-rw hit burn to disc, when done message will end. Disc can then be erased.

OS
Win7 H.Prem. 32bit+SP1
Open Explorer, in the tool bar click Organize > Folder and search options > View > check: Hide protected operating system files > Ok.

I don't want to hide any files , operating sytem files included , I would just like to find where these files which are waiting to be burned to disk are situated so that I can delete them.

The problem I have with any attempts to do this is that , if I try to follow the advice given with this message and try to click the icon containing the message , the icon disappears before I can find the path to these files which I now no longer require to burn to disk.

I do not want to hide any protected operating system files - I want to be able to see all files.

Sounds like this might help you with that,

No, it won't  ...Why would this message come back if there are no files in the burn folder?

(Not trying to be difficult, but I'd love to know!)

Because the folder returns so does the "desktop.ini" file that is created by Windows. When you have show protected OS files turned on, Explorer sees desktop.ini in the burn folder, then you get the above message.

I have noticed that desktop.ini file myself; I deleted it a few times but it kept coming back so I just let it be.

However, I have never gotten the "files waiting to be burned" message, ever. Thus my confusion...
