I have an Acer Aspire Laptop running Win7 with all its updates.

This fault is really confusing me. It only happens when I'm on Facebook. Everything is OK until I accidently hit "show desktop" button at bottom right of screen. Screen then flashes, popup briefly appears saying display adapter not responding. The screen then disappears and reappears and then all pictures go. Screen not dead as slight glow. Cursor disappears. Then eventually the computer shuts down. I can restart immediately but get the option to boot into safe mode etc. This only happens if FB running in the foreground.

I've run all sorts of diagnostics, anti malware, anti spyware, anti virus. Laptop seems completely clean

To be honest I'm not sure if this is the right forum - in fact I'm only used to looking for things in forums not posting.

I did download the SF Diagnosit Tool and am attaching the zip file - not sure if that's any help.

Welcome patsyc47,

This is called a GRAPHICS_DRIVER_TDR_TIMEOUT

Your problem is related to igdkmd32.sys Intel Graphics Kernel Mode Driver dated 2009.

Please re-install the newest one.

http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Default.aspx

Good luck.

When upgrading your graphic driver you MUST remove all traces of the current driver. In order to do that we recommend using

Phyxion.net - Driver Sweeper

When it is removed then download and install the fresh copy.

As graphics drivers need to be complely removed I would remove all of them. You are only suppossed to have one anyway,

Then download and install the newest version.

But as usual you should back up just in case.
