Can the Administrator log into any account?

I am the Administrator, can I log into any account using my admin pass?
I have several standard user accounts with passwords.. I don't want to remove their passwords or delete the accounts, just have access to them..

You can. It will ask you if you want to continue, say yes and it may ask you for admin credentials unless you have UAC turned off.

im intrested please explain does this work in domain? only local users?
and how does it work?
I mean you have logon screen user name and password field you can just enter password (leaving the user unchanged) from user in admins group and log on on to any user name? password and user mismatch is okay (if password from user in admins gruop) is that what are you saying?
Or maybe youre talking about access to other users private folders/files?

But question was about log in to user account, not opening files, am i wrong?

I can't seem to get this to work..
I click on a user, and for the password I use my admin password, and it says 'password incorrect'.. I don't get an option to override and continue or anything..

Is this for a domain based network? Or is this on a home network?

You can't log on as the user, you can only access their files.

Any user either local or domain will allow login only if the corresponding password is given. An administrator's password will not work for any other user. It works only for the administrator.

It is impossible to login to other user's account with administrator's account.

But an administrator can have access to other user's folders if the administrators group is added to the folder permissions.

If the user excludes all the folder's permissions except his own, then the administrator can not directly access these folders. The only way he can access these folders is by taking ownership and then adding himself to the folder permissions.

Is this on a work computer and do you have the other users' permission to login to their accounts? If you do, simply ask them for their passwords. Otherwise this sounds fishy.

Admin = parents
Standard Users = children

OK, so the original question is answered - the next question is why would you need or want to log into their accounts when you already have access to everything (file and registry-wise) on the system?

Not that it's any of your business (no offense), but we have legal custody of a teenager who used several social media outlets to cause a crime.. While I have those sites and programs blocked, he is very tenatious and has already found several workarounds.. We are trying to let him earn privileges on the computer, but need to make sure he isn't doing things he shoudn't or isn't allowed..

Interesting - have you considered programs to monitor activity, or perhaps using a proxy that captures activity instead? And no, I take no offense when something really is none of my business .

The auditing feature in the windows will allow you to do that. Setup auditing for the given user's activity you wish to monitor and the audit trails are recorded in Event Viewer.

For online activity, you could use NetNanny or a similar program with parental controls.

Sorry, sometimes we will have people who are trying to hack someone else's computer for whatever reason, boyfriend/girlfriend squabbles etc. We truly aren't trying to pry, just understand.
I don't know if you have a router in use, but it can be configured to block sites by address or maybe keywords. That would work for all accounts on the PC on that router. Then put a password on the router. But since most young'uns are smarter than us, a router reset button would wipe all of that out.
Maybe be a good time to forget privileges, you do the crime, you do the time. Away from the PC that is, no access.
