Solved Random BSODs, error 0x0000001E

My computer worked fine for the first week I had it and now it is randomly BSODing with error code STOP: 0x0000001E and I have no idea why.

Windows 7 Home Premium x64 (Full retail)
Computer is about 2 weeks old
OS only installed once

Please help as soon as possible, thanks.

Your crashes are related to athrxusb.sys Extensible Wireless LAN device driver from Atheros Communications, Inc.

Update this to the newest please.

It is indeed your wifi driver. You can obtain a newer version from the mfr (athros) but if that is the newest driver since it is not win 7 compliant you need to install it in compatibility mode

(compat mode=right click the installer>properties>compatibility>choose OS)

Alright, it was installing for Windows XP, so hopefully that was the only problem and won't cause BSODs anymore

Installed in compatibility mode and still got the same error. Uploading new minidump with this post. I used this wireless adapter for another computer with Windows 7 and it worked perfectly fine. Is it possible that I might need a new one? It may also be good to note that this generally only happens while playing a game or downloading games.

EDIT: I just now changed wireless adapters to a Belkin Version 5 as apposed to Belkin Version 4, which required a different driver, and the only athxrusb.sys is located in the windows drivers, while when I was using the version 4 there were 3 instances of it. Could this have helped?

It could have been a contributing factor.

The most recent driver still points to it.
