An Intel 320 120GB SSD drive.

All my voracious reading uncovered some tidbits that helped me make this choice. And, the choice to buy 120 GB vs 80 GB even though 80 GB is even enough.

I plan on waiting maybe another firmware release before I install (what with the 8 MB bug currently).

It is possible you have the new FW version already.

I put it on mine weeks ago.

Really easy to update.

That bug has been squished already.

As mentioned, you can go ahead and download the latest FW and burn it to a CD.


Just flash it right out of the box just to be safe. This is what I did with mine, and mine updated without issue.

Not even sure what FW it had originally, but Ive had no issues out of mine.

Everything I read said the firmware update did not fully fix the 8 MB bug as some got it after applying the firmware. The build date on my box is 11/15/11 or somewhere thereabouts.

I also meant I'd wait to install until after the next firmware update (i.e. next one AFTER the attempted 8 MB fix).

Intel SATA3 drives are fine!!! its the Sandforce 3 Chips that are the prob! AKA nearly all the SATA3 SSDs use it but OCZ is customized it for there drives and Enable AHCI for more speed and stability! (Fixed the firmware update probs for the OCZ Agility 3 i have!) and add System Reserved partition to another drive (HDD) if it does not do it automatically (Mine is 5GB)(Stock is 100MB) ill be moving all SSDs to rocket RAID card due to rare BSOD 0X0F4 errors common with the Z68 chipset!
