I'm returning here because the situation got worse.

I'm getting BSOD almost every day (somtimes few times per day) and my pc keep freezing (sometime right after start up) and I have to re-boot.

I checked my bios and what I found written there is:

onChip SATA type - native IDE
onChip SATA port type - IDE.

As I'm not an expert, I didn't want to try updating the bios by myself.

I would appreciate any further assistance.

We do need the DMP file as it contains the only record of the sequence of events leading up to the crash, what drivers were loaded, and what was responsible.

If you are overclocking STOP

You may be able to get the DMP files without crashing by booting into safe mode (F8) with networking.

To enable us to assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder.

The procedure:
* Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
* Zip up the copy.
* Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.
*If the files are too large please upload them to a file sharing service like "Rapidshare" and put a link to them in your reply.

To ensure minidumps are enabled:
* Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl, press Enter.
* Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery Settings... button.
* Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked.
* Under the Write Debugging Information header select Small memory dump (256 kB) in the dropdown box (the 256kb varies).
* Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as %systemroot%\Minidump.
* OK your way out.
* Reboot if changes have been made.

In the meantime there are some really ancient drivers that need updating

Code:
VcommMgr.sys 3/25/2005 4:18:47 AM
BTHidMgr.sys 4/30/2005 1:50:09 AM
blueletaudio.sys 5/31/2005 2:40:18 AM
usbfilter.sys 4/3/2009 6:39:45 AM

How To Find Drivers:
- search Google for the name of the driver
- compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
- visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
- if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone will try and help you locate the appropriate program.
- - The most common drivers are listed on this page: Driver Reference Driver Reference
- - Driver manufacturer links are on this page: Drivers and Downloads

There were 2 minidump files in the zip archive. There are no more files in the minidump folder on my pc.

The 3 first driver belong to the bluetooth IVT software that I un-installed like I was instructed when I first posted here because I don't need it anymore. I don't understand why the drivers are still there. Any advice?

The third driver belong to the AMD chipset and I hope I now updated the correct driver.

What's next?

If you are refering to the Blutooth driver, it should have been removed when you removed the blutooth.

If it hasnt you can simply rename it to *.bak so it cant load.

If you stopped responding and had to hard reboot, it crashed.

You can check event viewer to see what is logged there regarding the issue.

To check for freezing/crashing you need to check several things.

Event viewer.
Type eventvwr in search and go to the windows log>application tab.
Look for errors. Errors have red in the left hand column.

Look for errors that say app hang, or app crash, or anything related to the problem.
When you find them either take a screenshot of them and upload them to us, or note the event ID and source codes and look them up in google. If you cant find them in google tell us what they are.

There are many errors. None of them say "hang" or "crash". There are many "app error".

However, there is no error relating to the BSOD that I posted about this morning (It's easy for me to look for that because I remember when I turned the computer on this morning).

There are so many problems it might be time for a clean install.

This thread has been going for almost two months and I dont know if anyone has suggested a clean install but....

1-dropbox know to cause bsod's
Preventing Laptop from sleep, hibernate --- BSOD « Dropbox Forums

2-Old drivers from as far back as 2005. You were asked to remove them earlier in the thread and they are still here.

Thank you for you patiance.

Regarding the drivers - as I explained yesterday, I uninstalled the software but the drivers remained for some reason. I renamed them to ".bak" like you suggested yesterday. i have no idea why they keep coming up.

I will try everything you suggest and post the results here tomorrow.

And thank you again.
