It takes more than 90 seconds to load my computer and I only have 3 items in the startups. It also takes a long time to load each link I go to after I click on it. The loading indicater stops and then starts again after a long wait. I checked the events section and found quite a few errors in them, one right after another. I used to be able to figure these out but have forgotten. Can anyone help. Along with this superfetch won't start and I have tried everything out there to do that has been suggested.

dakota37, welcome to SF. First things first if you can completely fill out system spec's. with model numbers that could be very helpful. 1) When did this slow down begin?
2) What type of AV and such do you use and what does it report both out of and in a safe mode boot?
3) How old and what are the details of your PSU
4) Have you added anything or made a change before this started, maybe restoring back to a point where the system was running better/faster?
5) When was the last HDD defrag and clean, what is it's available/free space and how old is it?
6) Any other details you can think of?

I will have to look up all the specs, I built it myself and can't remember where I wrote them all down. I am not sure whether a program install did it or not, and if it did, they were all programs I had used before with no problems. I just did a defrag yesterday. AV is Microsoft Security Essentials, and run Immunet along side of it. Ran Malwarebytes and superantispyware yesterday too. BTW, did not run the AV in safeboot. The psu is fairly new it is a corsair either 600 or 700 watts. I will see about getting the specs up. Okay?

dakota37, got it. Try running both malwarebytes and Security Essentials in safe mode and see if they can did up anything. So you think things began getting slower a day ago, week ago, month ago? Have you tried restoring back to a time when the system was quicker?

Seems like 2 or 3 weeks ago, not sure because I suspected my ISP first. I did try restore, all the way back to what was the the oldest, which was not a whole lot, probably only a week or 2 maybe 3. Don't know how long it keeps them. Didn't seem to make a difference. Will try the safe mode tests tomorrow.

Malwarebytes found 2 adware files ie: (pup.adware.downloader. Security essentials found nothing. everythink looks clean now. Still slow though. Don't know if I want to try that clean boot that marsmimar told me about.
