can not install realtek ac'97 for VIA audio driver

Windows 7 reject/unable to install realtek ac'97 for VIA audio driver. How to solve this problem?

Try running it in vista sp1 compatibility mode

I would also try installing a vista driver on windows 7 manually. This has solved the issue for many others on the forums.
