After a clean install of Window 7 64bit Pro full retail and the following new hardware:
CPU. i5-2500K 3.30Hz 6MB Cache
MB. ASUS P8P67 Pro B3 Revision
MEM. 8GB DDR3
Graphics ATI HD5570
PSU Corsair 800w
Disks:
WD Caviar Green 500gb
Maxtor 300gb
WD External 120gb.

I have had a few problems with a WPD driver that is now sorted but ever since installation there have been sudden PC shutdowns, program has stopped working messages, and general minor lockups. I hope the attached information will allow someone with the right knowledge to find what the problem maybe. I noted in the health report that there was no AV found, I have Spyware Doctor with Anti Virus and use PC Tools firewall plus.

I hope I have carried out the instructions correctly, if not I am sure you will let me know!

Happy Hunting;)

You need to update a few older drivers:

Gentlemen.

Thanks for your replies, when you say a 'few' older drivers need updating perhaps that is a slight understatement?
I have run Windows update, motherboard updates, graphics update, printer updates and run a couple of driver find programs in order to find any that needed updating.
There were a few that Windows said were current that Driver detective listed as out of date, I tried to find them myself but failed to find the source:(.

There are so many on your list I do not know where to start, any suggestions?

I have been advised not to install and action (pay) for a driver updater program as these are often unreliable and can easily install old drivers anyway.

I had not heard of problems with PC tools and Windows 7 but will certainly see what I can find out.

You can search drivers on google :)

I have tried Google, that search resulted in lots of links to sites selling driver update services, as I said;
There were a few that Windows said were current that Driver detective listed as out of date, I tried to find them myself but failed to find the source:(.
I used Driver Slim to update a few drivers and Driver Genius to find some more.

On the two files I attached to my post were there no indications at all as to what caused the BSoD?

EDITED.
Around 30 seconds after this post another BDoD struck, I had removed the tick to Automatically restart in startup and recovery so thought I could read through the BSoD message.

The system rebooted anyway, but I did spot a line that looked something like **_pfn** corrupt.

I will check for what this may mean on Google but would somebody please be kind enough to check out my attached files to see if they give any clue to what the fault was and if it was another pfn error. Does this stand for Page Fault * or maybe Pre Fetch * ??

I have once again unchecked the Auto restart option.

More BSoD's

I ran SFC /scannow from a DOS box, errors were found and fixed after a reboot.
I then ran it again and no errors were reported. I shut down as normal.

This evening I started up as usual, after entering my logon password and hitting enter, another BSoD appeared. Files attached.
The STOP information is as follows:
0x00000024, 0x00000000001904FB, 0xFFFFF880035933E8, 0XFFFFF88003592C49, 0XFFFFF8000320604B.

I rebooted into safe mode and checked Device Manager for errors and none showed.

I rebooted as normal and ran the files as attached, I then noticed that two 'Desktop Window Manager stopped working and was closed' were on the taskbar.

I really am at a loss to know what is causing these errors, hopefully the attached files will shed some light on it.

Please do Memtestx86: Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool and let it run for 7 passes

I will remove 1 stick of 4GB memory and re-run test.

Edited:
Checked each stick individually in slot 0 and 1. Stick A passed with no problems in both slots. Stick B failed 10 times in 15 scans on slot 0 and 3 times on 2 passes in slot 1.

I contacted the seller through Amazon who has said they will refund me the cost. I have now re-ordered another pair, can I use the now free 4GB stick alongside the new pair?

:D:D Thanks 'GianniDPC' That's great news and a little recompense for the problems the other stick has caused us both.

Yours, and others help with this is appreciated by us 'not so technical' persons!
