Migrating to x64 CPU. What all things should I do ?

My existing Intel Core 2 Duo is having probs.. so I planned to build a new CPU at low cost.

Specs:

AMD Athlon X2 260
Biostar N68S3B Motherboard
8GB DDR3 RAM
Liteon DVD writer
ASUS EAH 5450 1GB Gfx card
500GB HDD - Seagate
450w PSU

Looks good so far, I don't think you'd have many problems. Though it would help if you posted the specific model and brand of the RAM, PSU etc.

You should be good to go except for one thing. The PSU brand 'Mercury' has been known to make some shoddy power supplies. Although this may not be the case for all their products, to be safe I would go with a reputable brand such as Corsair, CoolerMaster or Thermaltake. If you want a slightly larger list of reputable PSU brands:

Good Quality: PC Power & Cooling, Cooler Master, SeaSonic, Silverstone, Enermax, Antec, AMS, Corsair, OCZ, Ultra, Thermaltake, Zalman, Sparkle.

I would also recommend giving the below thread a read.I realise you're not gettinga new graphics card, nor is your build GPU oriented but the PSU tips are still worth a look.
